Research School Management

The school is headed by professor (docent) Ulrik Jørgensen, Department of Management Engineering, Technical University of Denmark.

 

Key Advisors

Niels Henrik Mortensen, associate professor, PhD, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Denmark. Research areas: product configuration, design methodology, design language, platform-based product development, interaction between design and product platforms.

 

Ulrik Jørgensen, professor, PhD, Department of Management Engineering, Technical University of Denmark. Research areas: philosophy of science, sociology of technology, management & regulation of technology and environment, technological foresight for ICT, environmental technologies and transport.

 

Mogens Myrup Andreasen, professor, PhD, Department of Management Engineering,Technical University of Denmark. Focus research areas: design methodology, product development, integrated product systems, methods for synthesis and the creation of a theoretical foundation for the teaching of design methodology.

 

Jacob Buur, professor, PhD, Mads Clausen Institute for Product Innovation, University of South Denmark. Research areas: user oriented design, interaction design, man-machine interaction, pervasive computing, design learning and design anthropology

 

Frank Gertsen, professor, Center for Industrial Production, Aalborg University. Research areas: innovation and continued innovation. (Board member CIPU). Research areas:

 

Nicola Morelli, associate professor, PhD, Department of Architecture and Design, Aalborg University. Research areas: industrial design, [strategic] design strategy, paradigms, design and social responsibility, market oriented design.

 

The research school is hosted by Technical University of Denmark, Department of Engineering Management and Department of Mechanical Engineering.  The school’s secretariat and financial administration is undertaken by Department of Engineering Management.

 

A coordination group supports the research school’s management. Appointed members of the coordination group are:

  • Arne Remmen, professor, Aalborg University. Research areas: technology assessment and environmental design
  • Per Dannemand Andersen, DTU Risoe. Research areas: foresight and innovation
  • Two PhD student representatives

 

Other key researchers from the participating institutions will also contribute with their competencies to ensure coordination of activities in relation to other initiated research centre plans.
